Origen, actualidad y prospectiva de la filosofía de la biología

Resumen

En este artículo se analiza, en primer lugar, cómo surgió la filosofía de la biología a partir de los debates en el campo de la filosofía general de la ciencia y los desarrollos en la biología. En segundo lugar, se plantean las diferencias entre la filosofía de la biología y la filosofía tradicional de la ciencia que fue, casi exclusivamente, una filosofía de la física. Finalmente se plantean los principales debates actuales dentro de la filosofía de la biología, sobre todo los que se refieren a las investigaciones sobre los conceptual puzzles que la biología plantea y el estudio de problemas filosóficos que surgen de la biología, pero que no son problemas científicos estrictamente.
