Desarrollo nuclear en México, Brasil, España y la Argentina

Desde fines del siglo XX, el calentamiento global y las proyecciones alarmantes sobre el consumo energético comenzaron a reconfigurar los imaginarios sociales que sobre la energía nuclear dominaban en los países industrializados. Mientras que la presión de los movimientos antinucleares había dejado de tener la virulencia de las décadas de 1970 y 1980, algunos gobiernos habían comenzado a anunciar el retorno masivo de la energía nuclear. Sin embargo, el desastre de Fukushima, Japón, en marzo de 2011, devolvió la vigencia y actualizó las prevenciones, críticas y francas oposiciones a esta tecnología.
