Abstract

Science, technology, and society Studies (STS) are a multidisciplinary field essential for understanding the complexity of today's world. They began in the United States and Europe and have gradually been cultivated in the Ibero-American world. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, the field has become diverse and dynamic in its approaches, examining benefits and risks, damages and accidents, controversies, and public interest debates about science and technology.
