Brief historical review of personal computing in Argentina

This work intends to briefly review the history of the birth and development of personal computing in Argentina. The term “personal computing” will be used to refer to the set of general and specific-purpouse digital devices designed to be used at home and marketed targetting individuals mainly. I analyse the arising of the first home devices prior to modern programmable computers, such as calculators and videogames; the emergence of the first programable personal computers, such as the Commodore; the appearance of the IBM PC; and, finally, the great leap forward experienced during the last 20 years, with the growth of the Internet and the mobile devices.coup-d’état.
