Efeitos da Capacidade de Absorção Tecnológica no Crescimento Econômico

Resumo

Este estudo apresenta uma análise, a partir de uma perspectiva macroeconômica, sobre o efeito das capacidades tecnológicas de uma série de países ajustadas por sua capacidade de absorção no produto interno bruto por trabalhador em um modelo de dados de painel. Para a estimativa do modelo, recorre-se a uma função não linear, pois os efeitos tecnológicos são diferenciados dependendo da fase de desenvolvimento em que cada país estiver. Em primeiro lugar, encontra-se que existem desempenhos positivos, porém, decrescentes, tanto no investimento em pesquisa e desenvolvimento quanto em sua capacidade tecnológica. Em segundo lugar, na segmentação dos países conforme seu nível de renda, encontra-se que somente nos países de alta renda se apresentam efeitos positivos da tecnologia, com efeitos maiores quando os indicadores tecnológicos são ajustados conforme sua capacidade de absorção.
