Fabricação aberta: um caminho alternativo para a indústria 4.0?

Resumo

Desde o início da década de 2010 o conceito de “Indústria 4.0” ganhou popularidade na Europa para se referir a um tipo de fábrica automatizada, digitalizada, modulável e flexível, capaz de atender às necessidades de um ecossistema produtivo cada vez mais exigente e mutável. Embora o termo tenha sido inicialmente cunhado pelo governo alemão, essa palavra foi amplamente aceita no velho continente, desenvolvendo programas específicos de apoio em cada país, de acordo com a estratégia de digitalização da indústria promovida pela Comissão Europeia. Mas essa transição para a fábrica conectada enfrenta uma infinidade de desafios que estão longe de serem resolvidos em curto prazo. Ao mesmo tempo, podemos observar de que forma uma nova cultura de fabricação está surgindo no alvorecer do “movimento maker”, e através de espaços de produção emergentes como makerspaces e fab labs, os quais produzem itinerários alternativos de desenvolvimento tecnológico. Nesta contribuição explora-se o surgimento da “manufatura aberta” e seu papel diante do empoderamento da cidadania por meio da tecnologia, devido à necessidade de antecipar e prever as brechas digitais que a Indústria 4.0 provavelmente produzirá.
