Efeito das despesas internas em P&D na eficiência tecnológica de empresas espanholas. Análise comparativa durante o período de crise de 2008-2012

Resumo

O objetivo do trabalho é analisar a relação entre os investimentos internos de P&D e os resultados tecnológicos (patentes) das empresas espanholas, considerando se a fonte do investimento é pública ou privada em um contexto de políticas de austeridade e crise financeira. Utilizamos os procedimentos de aproximação de dados em painel —1345 empresas e cinco anos (de 2008 a 2012)— da base PITEC. Os resultados mostram que o investimento de recursos públicos e privados em P&D interno tem um impacto positivo nos resultados tecnológicos (patentes) das empresas espanholas. Esse resultado depende em grande parte do tamanho das empresas e de sua capacidade de gerar recursos próprios de investimento em P&D internos. Como resultado da análise, sugere-se a necessidade de um maior apoio público para melhorar o esforço das PME espanholas.
