Dinâmica da inovação e estratégia de apropriação em uma grande empresa biofarmacêutica argentina

Resumo

O artigo apresenta o estudo de caso da Biosidus S.A., a mais antiga e importante empresa biofarmacêutica argentina. A análise visa evidenciar o modo em que a estratégia de apropriação dos benefícios derivados das inovações tecnológicas obtidas pela empresa se articula com sua dinâmica inovadora. A Biosidus se caracteriza por ter uma longa trajetória inovadora, baseada em importantes capacidades internas e em fortes vínculos com instituições públicas de P+D com as quais colaborou, sendo tudo isso refletido em uma ampla variedade de projetos inovadores na área da biotecnologia aplicada à saúde humana. Nesse contexto, este trabalho tem um duplo objetivo. De um lado, é analisada a estratégia de apropriação da empresa, evidenciando o uso que ela faz de diferentes mecanismos de apropriação existentes para proteger as suas inovações dos seus concorrentes e dos seus partners de inovação. Do outro, são relacionadas as diferentes variantes observáveis nessa estratégia com as características e a dinâmica da inovação desenvolvida nos diversos projetos, nos quais são identificadas diferenças em relação a objetivos, complexidade e importância da cooperação com centros públicos de P&D.
