Construyendo capacidades de innovación en iniciativas asociativas de pequeñas agroindustrias rurales en El Salvador

El artículo tiene el propósito de analizar la construcción de capacidades de innovación en las pequeñas y medianas empresas familiares y asociativas implicadas en la producción y comercialización de panela –azúcar sin refinamiento industrial- en el contexto centroamericano de El Salvador. Aunque el análisis está enfocado hacia una iniciativa asociativa en particular, la cooperativa ACOPANELA, que aglutina múltiples pequeñas empresas familiares o trapiches, el artículo posiciona la construcción de capacidades innovadoras, dentro del subsector de la panela, como una de las agroindustrias rurales con mayor trayectoria tradicional en El Salvador. Los resultados de esta discusión entregan conclusiones relevantes para fortalecer el alcance territorial de esfuerzos públicos y privados en el fomento de la innovación en la pequeña agroindustria y otros tipos de pymes rurales, bajo la conceptualización de construcción de sistemas territoriales de innovación.
