The Urgency of New Ethics in a Global Context of Change

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) constitutes one of the most significant and disruptive phenomena of the 21st century, both for its capacity to transform social structures and for the ethical considerations that its application raises. In a global context where multiple social, political, economic, and environmental crises converge simultaneously, AI appears as both a promise and a threat to life as we know it. Its impact is not only limited to the technical sphere but also affects power dynamics, the organization and productivity of labor, education and socialization, academic production, and the formulation of public policies. Faced with the concerns and questions raised by these technological advances, ethical reflection emerges as an essential condition to ensure that this technology serves humanity and does not become an instrument of exclusion or domination. This article proposes an interdisciplinary approach from the social sciences, incorporating a meta-academic reflection: the use of AI as a tool to analyze itself to contribute to contemporary challenges.
