The Urgent Need Of A Science Education Reform In Argentina
Keywords:
science education, education reform, social promotion, innovative skills in the labor marketAbstract
In the near future, children and teenagers will be in charge of making decisions, promoting and reinforcing guidelines for a global sustainable development. In facing this pressing challenge, prestigious scientists, including several Nobel laureates, have strongly committed to a radical change in science education through the promotion of experimental-evidence-based education where the students build their own knowledge. With this approach, the student develops skills and competencies required in today’s labor market such as: creativity; critical thinking; communication; team work; evidence collection, recording and discussion; problem solving; debate; personal initiative; collaborative learning; solidarity; an emotional nature; a multi-tasking capacity; flexibility; and leadership. Given the universal nature of science, being fluent in it is invaluable in the search for a common language, in the building of a true and lasting peace and in creating a sustainable development for the world as a whole.Downloads
