Editorial
Abstract
CTS begins a new phase with this issue in terms of its publishing model: from now on, the traditional print edition will be accompanied by a new digital version, available online. The team behind the journal has made this decision based on the conviction that the issues addressed by science, technology, and society studies in the Ibero-American context deserve a broad and open channel of dissemination for online audiences. From now on, both current content and the complete CTS archive will be freely accessible at http://www.revistacts.net. This open access model will allow the journal to fulfill one of the goals stated in its inaugural issue: to ensure that discussions on the complex interrelations between science, technology, and society reach a broad audience in Ibero-America, and to provide academics and interested readers with a pluralistic forum for debate. With this, CTS also seeks to contribute to the integration of scholarly production by authors from the region into a truly global knowledge society.

Since 2007, CTS has provided open and free access to all its contents, including the complete archive of its quarterly edition and the different products presented in its electronic platform. This decision is based on the belief that offering free access to published materials helps to build a greater and better exchange of knowledge.
In turn, for the quarterly edition, CTS allows institutional and thematic repositories, as well as personal web pages, to self-archive articles in their post-print or editorial version, immediately after the publication of the final version of each issue and under the condition that a link to the original source will be incorporated into the self-archive.
