Imaginários e infraestrutura
Uma proposta para os desafios teóricos e metodológicos do estudo sociotécnico da digitalização

A penetração e a expansão das tecnologias digitais na vida social contemporânea aparecem como um tópico de extrema relevância para os estudos STS, uma relevância que leva a revisitar a questão de quão profundas e sem precedentes são as transformações sociotécnicas em andamento. Com foco na pesquisa sobre a digitalização do trabalho, este artigo reflete sobre três desafios: definições epistemológicas, o desenvolvimento do categorial analítico e a concepção de uma estratégia metodológica sobre a unidade de análise. Em resposta a esses desafios, é apresentada uma proposta teórica e metodológica, construída com base em uma pesquisa sobre sindicatos diante da digitalização dos portos na América Latina. A proposta articula as categorias de imaginário e infraestrutura para investigar, a partir de uma abordagem sociotécnica crítica, as relações sociais e materiais em torno da mudança tecnológica no trabalho, destacando as tensões políticas do mundo do trabalho e dos sindicatos. Além das discussões conceituais e metodológicas sobre ambas as categorias, é incorporado um esquema de análise que traduz essas discussões em coordenadas de investigação e interpretação, como uma contribuição para a análise dos imaginários sociotécnicos.
