Resumo

Neste artigo, o autor realiza uma revisão crítica dos principais argumentos utilizados a favor e contra a abertura das políticas de ciência e tecnologia à participação cidadã. Tal exame é precedido por uma breve reflexão sobre os fundamentos conceituais do desafio da democratização da ciência, bem como sobre os sentidos possíveis de se atribuir a esse desafio. O ensaio propõe-se, assim, a contribuir para uma filosofia da política científica.
