Abstract

This article presents a reflection on food education in the curricular designs of high schools in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It also analyzes the importance of food education with an STS approach today and its misconception as nutritional education. Likewise, a taxonomy is presented to work on the subject of food in the classrooms under the STS approach, based on six domains that include environmental and gender aspects.

Silvia Porro, UNLP

Degree and PhD in biochemical sciences from the National University of La Plata (UNLP), Argentina. Director of the Research Group in Science Education of the National University of Quilmes (UNQ), Argentina, and honorary professor at said university.
