Abstract

CTS reinforces in this issue its commitment to fostering Ibero-American dialogue on topics related to the relationship between science, technology, and society. The articles section opens with a contribution by Marcos Paulo Fuck and Maria Beatriz Bonacelli, who examine the consequences of the introduction of genetically modified seeds in Argentina and Brazil, particularly soybean seeds, and argue for the need for a regulatory framework to monitor their production and commercialization. Next, Ana M. González Ramos discusses human resource policies aimed at granting scholarships to young graduates and analyzes the percentage of women accessing training programs and their participation in different fields of knowledge. Léa Velho and Oscar Duarte Torres, in turn, present Colombia's capabilities in bioprospecting, a practice they believe can contribute to the development of countries with significant biodiversity. The articles section concludes with a study by Silvia de Bargas and Carlos Vieites, who explore the relationships between universities and their environments in the field of organic production in Argentina, based on survey results from agronomy and veterinary faculties and organic producers.
