Editorial
Abstract
A little more than three years ago, in the editorial of issue 49 of 2022, Ana Cuevas recalled the almost 20 years of trajectory of Revista Iberoamericana de Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad and introduced herself as its new editor. Today, after 20 years, and also after 50 issues, I take over the rotating editorship of the journal with the aim of continuing the tasks that Ana left on track. The objective continues to be the same as when it was founded in 2003: to provide a space for exchange for the community of science and technology studies in the Ibero-American sphere. On that occasion Ana Cuevas recalled the central place of the STS Journal in the context of international discussion on the relations between science, technology and society, but also the specificities related to the Ibero-American dimension and the languages of our countries. These are two strengths that must be combined. STS studies have shown science and technology as social processes and products, at the same time dependent on and responsible for the worlds in which they are inserted.

Since 2007, CTS has provided open and free access to all its contents, including the complete archive of its quarterly edition and the different products presented in its electronic platform. This decision is based on the belief that offering free access to published materials helps to build a greater and better exchange of knowledge.
In turn, for the quarterly edition, CTS allows institutional and thematic repositories, as well as personal web pages, to self-archive articles in their post-print or editorial version, immediately after the publication of the final version of each issue and under the condition that a link to the original source will be incorporated into the self-archive.
