July 2026 - The contributions featured in this issue of Revista CTS revolve around one of the most central themes in our field of research: the socio-technical nature of the relationships between science, technology, and society. Among the diverse approaches within STS studies, we can identify as a central theme the understanding of the interdependent nature of these relationships, forming a "seamless web", in the words of Thomas Hughes. This issue also includes a much-needed special dossier on algorithms, artificial intelligence (AI), and gender biases. The articles in this dossier explore the central question that underpins studies on science, technology, and gender (STG) —the issue of the absence and presence of women in science—, updating it and situating it within the context of the biases that AI introduces into scientific communication practices.
